first assignment, read about blogs. ok....Sounds like glorified email. But wait, you can design the page? Choose a font and color? Maybe a picture? Only reasons so far to continue.

Ah...maybe in the beginning. But really, already, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's comments. I have emailed all of you some time or another in the past with an ILL or other request, but I feel that I've connected with all of you in a way that NEVER comes through on the emails.

THAT is the difference. ...the conversations, the creativity, and the connections. We haven't even scratched the surface on how meaningful blogging can be. What if you were connecting with 300 people, or 2400 people? Now THAT may be more difficult with email.

We'll look at a couple of blogs I love to read where a single post by the author brings in over 2,000 comments in a matter of a few days (240 comments in 5 hours). That's powerful.
